Search for location finds other place?

Hello,

I have noticed that recently locations are not found so precisely as it use to be.

If i just put rio de janeiro, for example, it shows a place on Argentina!!! That’s an offense for brazilians. Now, for it to work I have to put the entire city, state, country, such as “rio de janeiro, RJ, brasil”

Is it normal or is it a glitch?

The platform doesn’t have much of a saying in this… it uses external services (OpenstreetMap’s nominatim) for resolving names to coordinates.

Having said that, I am not replicating the behavior that you describe. Am I doing anything differently? (see attached gif) :
